Preparations for the 109th session of Canton Fair Information

   5-6 January 2011 at the Ministry of Commerce was held in Hangzhou, the preparations for the 109th meeting of the Canton Fair. Mainly divided into three parts:

(A) of the foreign trade situation is still complex

    In 2010, faced with the complex and volatile international environment, China's foreign trade have resumed growth, new record high. Estimated total annual imports and exports will reach 2.97 trillion U.S. dollars, of which exports 1.57 trillion U.S. dollars, 1.39 trillion U.S. dollars of imports, the surplus continued to decline, accounting for the increase in global market share. The current foreign trade development has many favorable conditions, but uncertain and unstable factors still a lot.
 

    First, power is not strong world economic recovery, IMF forecasts 4.2% economic growth in the world this year, trade volume growth of 7% growth in external demand is not optimistic. Second, the sovereign debt crisis is still spreading, the main currency exchange rates and increased volatility in commodity prices, trade protectionism. The third is facing five pressures, including rising raw material prices, labor costs, RMB appreciation pressure on energy saving and environmental protection, financing costs and so on.
 

    In this complex situation, we must follow the spirit of the central economic work conference and the national work conference on business requirements and deployment, to do foreign trade, maintaining healthy and stable development of foreign trade.
 

    (B) the main task of the coming period

    The coming period, China's foreign trade has "three major tasks":

    To maintain a steady growth of foreign trade. There are two specific requirements: First, China's foreign trade growth is higher than the level of overall growth in global trade, or international market share in China's trade account will drop. The second is higher than the level of national economic growth.
 

    Second, we must seek the basic balance of trade: to realize trade balance is the orientation of China's foreign trade policy, we do not pursue excessive trade surplus, China's foreign trade to health, sustainable development must maintain the basic balance of trade.
 

    Third, we must improve the quality and level of development of foreign trade: the next 5 years, development of foreign trade, we must focus on improving the quality and level, the focus is to change the way foreign trade development.
 

    To complete the "three major tasks", to strive to do the "three key", and should "turn mode" main line, "structural adjustment" as the focus, "to promote coordination" as the starting point to promote stable and healthy development of foreign trade.
 

    (C) a platform to continue to play the role of the Canton Fair

    According to "three major tasks" and the "three points", the 109th Canton Fair to do the preparatory work. First, the past two years the state has adopted a series of steady foreign demand, policy measures, to Canton Fair, full and good use of the various policies. Second, the combination of base and business platform, and encouraging enterprises to expand exports, to cultivate their own international marketing networks and channels. Third, the merchants in the consolidation of traditional market share at the same time, high-quality buyers invited to the meeting, efforts to attract buyers in emerging markets will purchase. Fourth, the exhibition focuses on optimizing product mix, support for more intellectual property rights and brands, independent marketing, high-tech products exhibition.

    Second, Wang Zhiping, director of China Foreign Trade Center notified the 109th Canton Fair preparations. During the fair, will not be much change in the circumstances to maintain the previous pattern of moderate expansion of the brand exhibition. Connectivity through better conditions in the North Plaza A, set up temporary exhibition hall to expand the scale of three total increase of about 1,300 booths. Trade groups can be used to meet the needs of booth type of restructuring, but also channel the original brand trucks A, fully integrated into the corresponding main exhibition hall, but can also increase brand appropriate booth size.
 

    Imports continued to show the scale of 2 million square meters, the product categories from 12 categories reduced to 7 categories, the first display electronics and home appliances, building materials and hardware, machinery and equipment, industrial raw materials, the third exhibition of food and agricultural products, health care and beauty care products, gifts and decorations.
 

    In addition the General Assembly of the exhibition hall to be in the second A, B District, Pearl River Promenade pilot light industrial product design innovation show, invited from the Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions outside the design of institutions attended, and professional forums, media interviews, special way of matching and other activities, providing design and docking services, but also in the third Chamber of Commerce of the United relevant export enterprises with foreign designers design docking activities and presentations.
 

    Finally, the meeting heard of the Association and trade groups on how to run the 109th Canton Fair, suggestions and ideas. Secretary for the king by the paper on behalf of issues and recommendations raised by the General Assembly made a summary of certain of the outcome of this meeting, which the way forward for the future development of the Canton Fair to provide a very good reference for ideas.
